For business customers. Every delivery is quoted and confirmed individually. A website enquiry, rate guide or customer account does not reserve a vehicle or confirm a booking.
1. Who you are booking with
SwiftCentral Logistics Ltd (company number 17449915), registered in England and Wales, arranges transport through independent transport partners. Contact us at quotes@swiftcentrallogistics.com or 0333 050 8866.
We remain your point of contact for the service we agree to arrange. We do not describe ourselves as operating our own vehicle fleet. If a booking involves a direct contract between you and a carrier, we will explain that arrangement before you agree.
2. Quotes and booking confirmation
Send the collection and delivery addresses, goods description, quantities, dimensions, total weight and value, dates, time slots, loading requirements and relevant references. Tell us about fragile, valuable, hazardous, restricted or temperature-sensitive goods before requesting a quote. We must expressly agree to any special handling or restricted goods.
Our written quote states the service, price, what is included, any exclusions and its validity. If no validity period is stated, availability and price must be reconfirmed before booking. A booking is accepted only when we confirm it in writing, following your acceptance of the quote and the applicable terms.
The job confirmation and any separately agreed account terms take priority over these general booking terms where they expressly differ. Any carrier conditions, special liability terms or international carriage conditions must be supplied or identified before acceptance; a carrier's undisclosed conditions are not automatically incorporated through this page.
3. Your goods and site arrangements
You must have authority to arrange the movement. Supply accurate information and goods that are suitably packed, secured, labelled and ready for collection. Tell us about access restrictions, vehicle limits, stairs, equipment, site inductions and loading or unloading assistance. Confirm forklift or tail-lift needs and who will load and unload.
Notify us promptly if the consignment, addresses or timings change. We will explain any effect on the vehicle, price or schedule and seek agreement before proceeding with a changed service.
4. Timed and next-day deliveries
Collection cutoffs, delivery slots, overnight holding and paperwork requirements must appear in the booking confirmation. We will take reasonable care to arrange the agreed service and communicate material delays. Estimated arrival times are estimates; a guaranteed service or acceptance of retailer fines requires an express written agreement before booking.
Tell us immediately about site booking rules, manifests and potential penalties. We will not assume that retailer fines or other consequential losses are covered by a carrier's insurance. Mandatory legal responsibilities remain unaffected.
5. Prices, extras and payment
Prices are agreed per job. The quote will identify applicable items such as waiting time, extra stops, parking, access charges, overnight holding, customs work or additional handling. We will explain and seek agreement to additional charges before they are incurred where reasonably possible. We do not apply an unspecified automatic surcharge.
SwiftCentral is not currently VAT registered and does not add VAT to its sales invoices. If our registration status changes, the legally applicable treatment will be explained in the quote or booking confirmation.
Payment terms and the due date are agreed in writing for your account or individual job. An account application does not create unlimited credit. Please supply the correct invoice address and PO or DN reference before booking, and raise invoice queries promptly. Any change to agreed payment terms requires written agreement.
6. Changes, cancellations and unsuccessful delivery
Contact us as soon as a booking needs changing or cancelling. We will explain any reasonable, evidenced costs already committed for your booking and any agreed cancellation charge. There is no universal cancellation percentage under these terms.
If collection or delivery cannot take place, we will contact you for instructions. Waiting, redelivery, return or storage arrangements and their charges will be agreed where reasonably possible. We will take reasonable steps to minimise avoidable costs.
7. Delivery evidence and problems
We request proof of delivery and any agreed signed paperwork from the carrier. Please ask the receiving team to check the consignment where practicable and record visible shortages or damage on the delivery record. Tell us promptly about loss, damage, missing paperwork or delay, with photographs and the booking reference, so we can investigate and preserve evidence.
This request for prompt notice does not introduce an arbitrary claim deadline or remove rights you otherwise have. Any specific, lawful claims procedure applying to your booking will be supplied before acceptance.
8. Liability and insurance
Carrier liability cover is not the same as full-value insurance for your goods. Declare the goods' value and any special risks before booking. If you need additional cargo cover, tell us before collection; cover is not arranged or promised unless confirmed in writing.
This page does not impose a blanket per-tonne liability limit or claim that all goods are fully insured. Any proposed limit or additional condition must be appropriate to the service, lawful and expressly agreed before booking. Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Information, complaints and applicable law
We use booking and contact information as explained in our privacy notice, including sharing relevant delivery information with transport partners. For a concern, contact us using the booking reference; our complaints process explains the next steps.
For domestic business bookings, these general terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless a different written agreement or mandatory law applies. International carriage may be subject to mandatory conventions and must be agreed separately. Changes to this page apply to future bookings, not retrospectively to an accepted job.
